Serious Reporting Error Leads to Wall St Slump
Veteran ABC news reporter Brian Ross sparked Wall St carnage with his report on Friday that Donald Trump directed Michael Flynn to 'reach out' to Moscow during his Presidential election campaign. The market, unsurprisingly, reacted poorly to the news that former National Security advisor Michael Flynn had seemingly provided the evidence of Trump/Russia collusion that the agents of the Clinton/Obama axis have been so desperate to locate.
Alas, the hapless Mr Ross had omitted one crucial fact - this occurred after Trump's election victory and therefore during the transition period of his administration. This puts the matter in an entirely different light, and contact with one of the other superpowers, ostensibly to discuss mutual co-operation to achieve shared aims, such as the destruction of ISIS, might reasonably be expected. ABC news issued a correction but the damage had been done & many people undoubtedly suffered losses as a result of the unexpected roller-coaster ride.
Brian Ross has been suspended for 4 weeks without pay, which will be cold comfort to those hit in the pocket by a blunder that plainly had its roots in the media race to strike the fatal blow against the Presidency.
